Research Ethics Approval Policy

The journal Smart Economy, Entrepreneurship and Security establishes mandatory requirements for obtaining ethical approval for research involving human participants, animals, their biological materials, as well as personal or confidential data, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and international standards of research ethics.

Mandatory Ethical Approval

Research subject to ethical regulation must be approved in advance by a competent authority (Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board). The presence of such approval is a mandatory condition for manuscript consideration and publication.

Research Involving Humans

All studies involving human participants must be conducted with prior ethical approval and in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Participants must provide informed voluntary consent, and the processing of personal data must comply with applicable Ukrainian legislation on data protection.

Research Involving Animals

Studies involving animals must be approved by relevant ethics committees and conducted in accordance with international standards for humane treatment and use of animals.

Biological Materials and Personal Data

The use of human biological materials and the processing of personal or confidential data are permitted only with appropriate ethical approval and in compliance with Ukrainian legal requirements. Data must be properly protected and, where necessary, anonymized or pseudonymized.

Author Requirements

Authors are required to provide details of ethical approval, including the name of the approving institution, protocol number, and date of approval, and to include an Ethics Statement within the manuscript. Supporting documentation must be provided upon request by the Editorial Board.

Compliance and Enforcement

The Editorial Board verifies compliance with ethical requirements and reserves the right to reject a manuscript or retract a publication in the absence of appropriate ethical approval or in cases of ethical misconduct.

Compliance with Legislation

All research must comply with the current legislation of Ukraine and international standards governing research ethics.
