Academic Integrity and Publication Ethics Policy

The journal Smart Economy, Entrepreneurship and Security adheres to the principles of academic integrity and high standards of publication ethics at all stages of the editorial process, including submission, peer review, editorial evaluation, and publication. The editorial policy is based on internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and aims to ensure transparency, objectivity, and reliability of scientific communication.

Core Principles

The journal promotes honesty and responsibility in conducting research, accuracy and transparency of results, respect for intellectual property, and fairness and impartiality in the peer review process. Any forms of academic misconduct are strictly prohibited.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are required to submit only original research, properly cite all sources used, and refrain from submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the research. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their results and must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are subject to similarity checks using the iThenticate system. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or inappropriate authorship. In cases where such violations are identified, the manuscript may be rejected or, if already published, appropriate editorial actions will be taken.

Citation Ethics

The journal strictly prohibits any form of citation manipulation, including artificial inflation of citation counts, inclusion of irrelevant references, excessive self-citation, or coordinated citation practices among authors or journals. The Editorial Board monitors potential anomalous citation patterns and responds to identified issues in accordance with international standards.

The practice of reviewer citation manipulation is not permitted. Any recommendations to include references must be scientifically justified, and the Editorial Board reserves the right to disregard inappropriate requests for additional citations.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, well-reasoned, and unbiased evaluations, maintain confidentiality, disclose any conflicts of interest, and inform the Editorial Board of any suspected ethical violations, including plagiarism.

Handling of Complaints and Ethical Concerns

Complaints regarding potential breaches of publication ethics may be submitted to the Editorial Board. Such cases are considered in accordance with COPE recommendations and may involve preliminary assessment, additional verification, communication with authors, and a final editorial decision based on all available evidence.

Following the investigation, the Editorial Board may determine that no violation has occurred, request corrections, issue a formal notice, or retract the article. In cases where authors fail to respond or provide unsatisfactory explanations, the Editorial Board reserves the right to make a final decision independently.

Responsibility and Disclaimer

Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their publications. The Editorial Board and the publisher are not responsible for any consequences arising from the use of information published in the journal. The journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics in accordance with international scholarly practices.
