Authorship and Contributor Roles Policy (CRediT Taxonomy)
The journal Smart Economy, Entrepreneurship and Security implements a standardized approach to authorship and contributor roles based on the internationally recognized CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy). This approach ensures transparency, proper recognition of individual contributions, and compliance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
Principles of Authorship
Authorship is granted only to individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the research and manuscript preparation. All authors are expected to contribute to the conception or design of the study, data collection or analysis, participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript, approve the final version, and take responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the research. Individuals who do not meet these criteria should be acknowledged but not listed as authors.
CRediT Contributor Roles
Authors are required to clearly specify their individual contributions using the CRediT taxonomy. A single author may fulfill multiple roles. These roles include conceptualization, methodology, software, validation, formal analysis, investigation, resources, data curation, writing (original draft), writing (review and editing), visualization, supervision, project administration, and funding acquisition.
Author Contribution Statement
Each manuscript must include an “Author Contributions” section specifying the role of each author according to the CRediT taxonomy. To standardize the submission of this information, the journal uses an interactive checklist:
Download the EASE Interactive Checklist for Submitting Authors
Authors are required to complete this checklist and submit it together with the manuscript.
Example: Author Contributions: Conceptualization – A.B.; Methodology – A.B., C.D.; Formal Analysis – C.D.; Writing – Original Draft – A.B.; Writing – Review & Editing – all authors.
Author Responsibilities
All authors share responsibility for the content of the publication. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring the correct attribution of authorship, obtaining consent from all co-authors, providing accurate information on contributions and conflicts of interest, and maintaining communication with the Editorial Board.
Changes in Authorship
Any changes in authorship, including addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors, after submission are permitted only with written consent from all authors and a justified explanation. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request supporting documentation.
Unacceptable Authorship Practices
The journal does not allow honorary authorship, ghost authorship, or unacknowledged contributions. In cases where such practices are identified, the manuscript may be rejected or the published article retracted in accordance with COPE recommendations.
Integration into Author Guidelines
This policy forms an integral part of the journal’s Author Guidelines. Manuscripts that do not include a properly completed “Author Contributions” section and/or the required EASE checklist may be returned to the authors for revision prior to peer review.
